Sucker for Love: Date to Die Receives Free Demo on Steam So You Can Begin Romancing Monsters Now

DreadXP announced that the Akabaka-developed monster-romance visual novel Sucker for Love: Date to Die has received a free demo on PC via Steam ahead of its 2023 release.

This is the follow-up to Sucker for Love: First date, with updated features where the protagonist named, Stardust, is captured by cultists after investigating some strange happenings in her hometown, Scramen-cho. Sigh. To escape, she finds herself in a labyrinth; armed with a spellbook, she releases Rhok’zan, The Black Goat of the Woods.

The demo will give players a chance to meet some of the characters and get a feel for the mechanics. The publisher made sure to let us know that Stardust is an “asexual woman of color who isn’t driven by love.”

Sucker for Love: Date to Die has players interact with the environment and Rhok’zan through several scenes. The idea here is to not only escape but to also maybe even find love in the process. The game mirrors classic Lovecraft stories where there are some bad ends to be found, but the fun is to get through them and witness just how crazy this relationship can be.
