Studio MDHR Announces that the Cuphead Delicious Last Course DLC is Delayed
Studio MDHR have announced that the upcoming DLC content for Cuphead, known as The Delicious Last Course, has been delayed. This DLC will act as the final chapter to the story of Cuphead that began with the fateful day at the Devil’s Casino.
The reason for this delay is stated to be primarily due to the COVID-19 epidemic severely impacting developmental time and compromising the quality and effort that developers would normally be able to produce. In response to the global COVID-19 epidemic personally impacting their development team, Studio MDHR have chosen to refrain from compromising on their vision and releasing a subpar product, and have instead chosen to delay The Delicious Last Course DLC content until they find its quality suitable enough for fans to enjoy.
I, for one, am very glad for this decision. In a year fraught with so many game delays, the announcement of yet another one can be quite disheartening. However, above all else, I want developers to take their safety into consideration first and foremost, and treat the games they are developing as products to be enjoyed rather than half-baked messes meant to rake in a quick buck. Here is hoping that Studio MDHR end up being healthy, and deliver to us a truly delicious last course to this phenomenal 2D shooter-platformer.
