Dotemu announced that the Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games’ co-developed brawler Streets of Rage 4, will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam on April 30 for $24.99.
Additionally, aside from the release date, the studio launched a new trailer that introduces Battle Mode, which was previously in Streets of Rage 2 and 3. Players can choose arenas and fight in teams are against each other in head-on battles.
Earlier this month, the developer revealed that the roster of characters has expanded to include all of the previous playable characters in their pixelated form. The mode is called retro mode and new characters can be unlocked through gameplay. With the edition of these pixel characters, the roster has been brought to 17. Furthermore, players are able to switch between soundtracks of the original games while they are playing through levels.
Streets of Rage 4 continues the Sega action brawler series as players choose between playable characters Axel and Blaze as they walk the streets and kick ass. The character models and visuals were headed by the team who put out 2017’s Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake as they bring their unique retro style shading to a new series.
Streets of Rage 4 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 30.
