Street Fighter 6 Confirms Rollback Netcode & Crossplay
New Street Fighter 6 information has been sprouting due to lucky individuals being able to play it during Summer Games Fest. Intricacies regarding the game’s combat system are being discussed. However, what is also noteworthy is that Capcom has confirmed that the title utilizes rollback netcode and crossplay.
The former isn’t anything new for the series, but the latter is, and it’s especially noteworthy. This means that players will be able to play against each other regardless of which platform they own the game own. It isn’t entirely clear yet if PC is part of this crossplay equation, but the consoles (PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S) undoubtedly are.
An immersive single-player mode is also promised, breathing new life into the series that has lacked its incorporation. Moreover, the Classic Control Type returns alongside a brand new option, the Modern Control Type, which allows players to jump straight into the action with simplified inputs. Interestingly, a Real-Time Commentary Feature has been confirmed, providing a unique live flair to matches.
Street Fighter 6 is releasing in 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This title is built off of the RE Engine, leading to impressive graphical capabilities.
