Strategy JRPG ‘Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2’ Goes Gold Ahead of Launch Next Month

The president of developer CyberConnect2, Hiroshi Matsuyama, has announced that the company’s upcoming strategy JRPG, Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2, has gone gold, meaning that its development is complete, so delays are highly unlikely at this point.

Additionally, there will be a recap in-game for the events of the first Melodies of Steel, but prospective players are assured that this entry can be enjoyed entirely standalone sans context.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 takes place one year after the previous game. Though the children had celebrated their victory, the war didn’t end. Half of the original crew is trapped within the Taranis, and it goes on a rampage spreading destruction all over. Now the ones left behind will join Vanilla, the daughter of Gasco, and board its counterpart, the tank Tarascus to avoid even more tragedy and save their friends. The infamous Soul Cannon, which sacrifices a party member for temporary immense power, will also return.

In case you missed it, here’s our review of Fuga: Melodies of Steel.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam, Windows Store, and Epic Games Store) on May 11, 2023.
