Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Launching for Steam April 2023

Square Enix has announced that the Team Ninja-co-developed action game, Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, will launch for PC via Steam on April 7, 2023.  Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is now available worldwide on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. The first DLC, Trials of the Dragon King, the second DLC, Wanderer of the Rift, and the final DLC, Different Future, are also available.

Additionally, the Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, and Season Pass have all received permanent price drops. Specifics weren’t stated, but it appears like the Season Pass is at least $5 cheaper, now costing $24.99 instead of $29.99.

It’s pretty nice to see this entry finally greet Steam. With this and NEO: The World Ends with You now available there, I sincerely hope the Kingdom Hearts games receive the same treatment.

Throughout Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, players control protagonist Jack Garland as he and his allies, Jed, Ash, Sophia, and Neon, aim to eliminate Chaos at its root and bring peace to the realm of Cornelia. However, despite the apparent simplicity of the task before them, their memories are haphazard and incomplete, leading to questioning motivations.

The gameplay is Nioh-like, with a variety of loot to obtain for better gear and several swappable Jobs representative of the Final Fantasy franchise at large. Multiplayer is also present.

The Producer, Tetsuya Nomura, stated that a sequel is possible depending on this title’s achieved popularity.
