Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin Introduces Characters and Locations in New Screenshots

Square Enix has shared new information about the Team Ninja-developed action RPG Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin.

The publisher has revealed Sophia, a warrior who has the same conviction as Jack to defeat chaos, and she joins the group at some point. Further, we meet Astos, the king of the dark elves who know the location of the crystals. Laura Post has confirmed herself to be the English voice actor for Sophia.

The enemy Tiamat was introduced. This creature has a multi-headed design and attacks directly using its necks and tail along with wind-element attacks. One attack players should look out for is Macro Burst, where Tiamat’s breath radiates out from its multiple mouths.

New locations include the Western Keep, Crystal Mirage, and Flying Fortress. Event scenes are also shared showing the group fighting Tiamat and Sophia holding the black crystal.

The job system was also given the spotlight with the publisher sharing that there are basic jobs like swordfighter and mage, as well as advanced jobs that are unlocked as you level up basic jobs. There may be even higher-ranking jobs waiting for you if you continue to level Advance Jobs. By defeating enemies and leveling up, you will obtain Job Points, which can be used to learn new abilities and unlock new jobs in the Skill Tree. The three Basic Jobs are Swordsman, Mage, and Pugilist.

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin is releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 18, 2022.
