Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin Wanderer of the Rift DLC New Trailer; New Difficulty, Relics, Summoning Monsters & More

Square Enix has shared a new trailer for the previously announced Wanderer of the Rift DLC for Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin.

The title’s first DLC was Trials of the Dragon King.

The new trailer highlights the Gilgamesh difficulty, which spawns Chaos Monsters, a new breed of foe that appears in all missions and grants great rewards. It is only accessible after completing the Trials of the Dragon King DLC. Relics are added alongside this difficulty, comprising equipment blessed by a summon, increasing various stats.

Monster Bells are a new addition that allows players to summon monsters to aid their cause. A Summonstone and a special event with the respective monster you want to summon are required, with affinity raising via conversation, item usage, and feeding it.

A new shown skill is Dimension Bringer; it slows enemies in the vicinity and deals enhanced damage each time a combo ability is utilized. Oddly, a Tonberry Blacksmith will be added, though details regarding it are sparse. Lastly, Blue Mage is shown off, letting players use instant abilities without charges with R2/RT. Further, MP is spent to increase power. The activation button can also be held for a stronger attack.

Throughout Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, players control protagonist Jack Garland as he and his allies, Jed, Ash, Sophia, and Neon, aim to eliminate Chaos at its root and bring peace to the realm of Cornelia. However, despite the apparent simplicity of the task before them, their memories are haphazard and incomplete, leading to questioning motivations.

The gameplay is Nioh-like, with a variety of loot to obtain for better gear and several swappable Jobs representative of the Final Fantasy franchise at large. Multiplayer is also present.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is now available worldwide on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. The first DLC, Trials of the Dragon King, is also available.
