Marvelous has revealed Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, a new take on a classic entry in the long-running farming and life sim series. Unveiled during today’s Nintendo Direct, the game will launch for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on 27 August 2025. A physical release for Switch has also been confirmed.
Originally released on the Nintendo DS in 2010 (2011 in the West), Grand Bazaar stood out for its market-focused gameplay loop, allowing players to not just grow crops but become salespeople at a weekly town bazaar. This new version appears to retain that core charm while layering in modern enhancements and a visually upgraded presentation.
Breathing New Life into Zephyr Town
Set in the picturesque mountainside village of Zephyr Town, the game casts players as a newcomer tasked with revitalizing the once-thriving Grand Bazaar. Farming staples like tending crops, raising animals, and crafting unique items are all here, but selling them in the weekly bazaar adds a strategic twist. You’ll customize your stall, interact directly with customers, and work to bring foot traffic back to the town square.
Outside of commerce, life in Zephyr Town offers plenty of cozy distractions. Players can build relationships with a diverse cast of characters, potentially fall in love, and start a family with one of twelve marriage candidates. The world is also rich with whimsical touches, including glider travel powered by windmills and the return of the fan-favorite nature sprites.
Digital buyers can choose from three tiers:
- Standard Edition – $49.99
- Deluxe Edition – $59.99, includes the “Trunk of Transformation” DLC set
- Super Deluxe Edition – $69.99, adds a digital artbook and soundtrack app on top of the Deluxe content
All digital versions will be available for pre-order today on the Nintendo eShop.
