Story-Driven RPG ‘The Thaumaturge’ Shows Battle System and Grim Environments

11 Bit Studios secretly released gameplay of the Fool’s Theory-developed story-driven RPG The Thaumaturge coming to PC via Steam, GoG, and Epic Games Store, a release date was not provided.

The gameplay is hidden via the game’s website, where viewers must trace the linings of a seal to watch. The gameplay highlights some of the battle system, which appears to be card-based with a turn-based mechanic. Further, we get to see some of the explorable environments and characters.

The Thaumaturge is set in 1905 in Warsaw, which is home to religious conflict. However, it seems that’s not the only thing people need to be worried about, as monsters lurk in the shadows.

During gameplay, players will need to make choices that change the outcome of the narrative. Every moment of gameplay is shaped by the presence of mystical beings known as Salutors. The turn-based combat features abilities where the Salutors improve the player character’s skills and enhance their abilities. Throughout the game, players can manipulate other characters to progress their power.

We’ll keep you updated on the development and release of The Thaumaturge.
