Store Listing Reveals Dungeon-Crawler ‘Labyrinth of Zangetsu’ Coming West in 2023

A store listing revealed that PQube will release the Aquire-developed dungeon-crawling RPG Labyrinth of Zangetsu in the west on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in early 2023.

Labyrinth of Zangetsu is set in the Ido period after the was has been blackened out following the disaster of the Ink or Ruin. This causes warriors to venture into dangerous Labyrinths to defeat the Ink that plagues the lands. During exploration, the warriors must fight against powerful yokai that stand in their way.

Labyrinth of Zangetsu features hand-drawn illustrations of characters and enemies that utilize jet-black ink brush strokes to mimic traditional Japanese Calligraphy. Players will meet six playable characters with the option to create their own. Battles are turn-based against the Ink Beasts, where players can organize three front characters to attack and three back characters to defend and parry.

Progress is rewarded with an engaging narrative that tells the overarching story. However, the story reflects your losses as well, which means victory is key to get a better ending.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the official release of Labyrinth of Zangetsu in the west.

Currently, the game has not been formally announced outside of the leaked store postings.
