Spike Chunsoft announced that the 5pb. developed adventure game Steins;Gate Elite will launch in the west on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, digitally and physically.
Steins;Gate Elite is an updated version of the 2009’s Steins;Gate. The game has animated cutscenes pulled from the title’s anime adaptation. However, the creators have produced new scenes to adjust to the player’s choices throughout the game.
Steins;Gate Elite stars main protagonist Rintaro Okabe as he plays the role of the mad scientist. Within his future Gadget Laboratory, Okabe has created a device that somehow messes with the passage of time. This begins the creation of multiple timelines based off of how players handle various situations.
Additionally, the Switch version of Steins;Gate Elite will include 8-bit ADV Steins;Gate, an 8-bit story that features characters from the series.
As for the PS4 version, players will get to play through an added mode titled Linear Bounded Phenogram. Featuring for 30 hours of extra gameplay from well known visual novel developers.
A limited edition has also been revealed for Steins;Gate Elite for both version which will include:
- 100+ Page Hardcover Storyboard Collection
- Exclusive Cloth Poster
- Custom Outer Box
The PC version of Steins;Gate Elite was not mentioned.

Author’s take: I find it interesting that they’ve divided content between both version, which will definitely make the hardcore fanbase want both copies. However, I could also see people upset when they feel forced to spend money in order to get all of the content Steins;Gate Elite has to offer.
