MAGES. has announced that Steins;Gate: Variant Space Octet will be included as a first-run bonus with the Japanese physical release of Steins;Gate RE:BOOT for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The bonus will be distributed as a digital download code packaged with eligible physical copies. While players will be able to redeem the code in advance, Variant Space Octet itself will not be available to download and play until the second half of November 2026.

Originally released for PC in 2011, Steins;Gate: Variant Space Octet serves as a sequel to the original Steins;Gate and features a crossover story with Chaos;Head. We actually had a dedicated featured article about this title, emphasizing its connectivity to Chaos;Head that most Steins;Gate fans are not aware of.

Since its debut, Variant Space Octet has remained exclusive to physical PC releases in Japan. This new release marks the first time the title will be available on consoles, but there is no confirmation that it will make its way West.

Steins;Gate Re:Boot will be released for Switch, Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 on October 29, 2026, while Xbox Series X|S and Steam will receive the title on August 20, 2026.
