Starfield Releases New Live-Action Trailer

Starfield has had many interesting trailers, mostly indicating the feelings that are supposed to be invoked when booting up and taking flight in the world for the first time.

This new live-action trailer embodies that concept even more than the previous animated trailers, showing first a small girl rushing to meet a starship pilot before he takes flight. What follows next could easily be from any science fiction media that has been seen before.

We are taken through some events as the pilot takes off, dodging both enemy fire and asteroids before finally touching down on what appears to be Mars. The last shots are of the pilot looking at crystals before a bright light takes us back to Earth and the young girl waiting for the pilot to come home.

This trailer doesn’t show off any story details; instead tries to bring forth a series of feelings to potential players as the visuals play. “Rocketman” by Elton John scores the scenes by giving emotion that doesn’t need any words.

Starfield takes place in the 2300s, following a Colony War between the United Colonies and Freestar Collective. Players will make their own characters who are part of the space explorer organization Constellation and navigate the uneasy peace that has come as a result of the bloody Colony War. Starfield was also previously stated to be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day.

Starfield will be released on September 6, 2023, on Xbox and PC.
