Episode Two of Starfield’s Dev Diary Dives Into Immersion

Bethesda Softworks released episode two of their series of Starfield-centered developer diaries, titled Made for Wanderers, on YouTube this morning.

In this episode, Game Director Todd Howard, Design Director Emil Pagliarulo, Lead Quest Designer Will Shen, and Lead Artist Istvan Pely dive into how Starfield differs from previous Bethesda games like The Elder Scrolls, as well as the types of factions you can join, and how they approach player immersion. They mention that Bethesda has “severely leveled up” the way it handles player-related characters.

This comes a few months after episode 1, titled The Endless Pursuit, which featured Todd Howard, Studio Director Angela Browder and Art Director Matt Carofano as they discussed Bethesda’s history leading up to Starfield and the impact Starfield may have. You can check out episode one below:

Starfield takes place in the 2300’s, following a Colony War between the United Colonies and Freestar Collective. Players will make their own characters who are part of the space explorer organization Constellation, and navigate the uneasy peace that has come as a result of the bloody Colony War.

Starfield is set to release on November 11 for the Xbox  Series X and PC. The game will be accessible through Xbox Game Pass at launch.
