Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order Gets 15-Minutes of Gameplay Showing Mission Structure, Saw Gerrera, and Battles
Today, during EA’s E3 showcase EA Play, the publisher showed off new content for the much anticipated Respawn developed Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 15.
During the show, the publisher showed nearly 15-minutes of new gameplay, giving players a preview of the game’s characters and systems. A single player action adventure game set post order66 where the Jedi had been seemingly hunted. The gameplay is much like what fans on the Unchartered series would recognize. Surprisingly, Saw Gerrera, played by Forest Whitaker in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story makes an appearance to give some mission details to Cal before heading into an Empire base.
Fighting in Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order has the player use their environment against their enemies by using the force as well as executing lightsaber combos. During the gameplay, Cal faces off against several Empiral tropes, but none of them seem to stand a chance against his power. Interestingly, the director of the game Stig Asmussen stated that this is being played at a high difficulty, so the player might be making these difficult encounters look a little easy.
Other gameplay elements include choosing when to attack enemies and when to stand back and make a plan, Storm Troopers aren’t the only enemies in the game. Additionally, players can notice that Cal received a Skill Point during the game that he can use become stronger and getting from section to section will require the player to execute some platforming mechanics like wall running and climbing walls.
