Star Wars Eclipse Announced; Developed by Quantic Dream

During the Game Awards 2021 event, Lucasfilm Games announced a brand new upcoming Star Wars title called Star Wars Eclipse. The reveal trailer was purely cinematic, not showcasing any gameplay footage or even a release date. However, it was revealed that developer Quantic Dream is helming the project. This developer is mostly known for working on Heavy Rain, Detroit Become Human, and Beyond Two Souls.

Considering Quantic Dream’s track record, it is more than likely that this title will be heavily story-based with decisions that alter the course of the narrative. Based on information from a press release, this title takes place in an uncharted region of the Outer Rim during the High Republic Era, known as the Jedi Golden Age. Quantic Dream’s storytelling traits are also emphasized, such as narrative-defining choices that act as diverging points.
