Tactical Roguelite RPG ‘Star Renegades’ Shows Off Stylish “2DX” Look in New Trailer
During Gamescom 2019, publisher Raw Fury released a new, stylish trailer for Star Renegades, an upcoming tactical roguelike RPG from indie developer Massive Damage — creators of Halycon 6.
Earlier this year, Raw Fury shared that they were teaming up with Massive Damage to deliver Star Renegades to the masses, but now, after quite some time, the publisher is ready to show the true look of the game with what Massive Damage refers to as “2DX” (X for “Xtreme”, of course). Having taken a quick look at the game during a MIX event during GDC, I’m really digging the new look as it gives everything a nice pop.
What will make Star Renegades a tactical roguelike RPG? Well, it will seamlessly fuse JRPG turn-based combat that has a focus on pinpoint timing and tactical strategy. In the game, players will join a rebellion and fight to end an endless interplanetary conflict that will span generations in a fight against The Imperium. With a procedurally generated, emergent mission-based campaign. and an interesting Adversary system that will let you foster friendships and possibly romance, every playthrough is going to end up being unique and challenging.
Star Renegades is currently set to release sometime in spring 2020 for PC-via Steam.
