Star Ocean The Divine Force Japan Collector’s Edition Revealed

Square Enix has revealed the collector’s edition for the Japanese version of the upcoming latest entry in the Star Ocean franchise, Star Ocean The Divine Force. There is currently no word on whether the West will receive this package.

The contents of this edition are translated and listed below via our team’s Ryuji:

  • Physical copy of the game (PS4 or PS5)
  • An 80-page high-quality A4 artbook
  • 5 soundtrack discs. The first four are the entire game soundtrack, and disc 5 contains 10 rearranged soundtracks from Divine Force.
    • Implies a 1990s arrangement style
  • Two rubber keychains of Raymond and Laeticia
  • An A4-sized artwork of the game. Comes with an acrylic standee to prop it up.
  • It says here the copy will include all the game DLC but it doesn’t specify how. If I had to guess, it might be a code inside the physical sleeve.

You can pre-order either the copy with the PS4 physical unit or the one with the PS5 physical version. They have separate pages. And either one you buy, you can freely upgrade to PS5, should you desire.

Those who pre-order the collector’s edition from the Square Enix e-Store will also get a 2023 poster calendar (design still not revealed).

The collector’s edition is now available to pre-order.

Star Ocean The Divine Force is the newest RPG from developer Tri-Ace. The game features a sci-fi setting as the sixth entry in the franchise with an action-focused battle system. This narrative tells an original story led by protagonist Raymond, the captain of a space trading ship, along with Ydas, and Laeticia, the princess-knight of an underdeveloped planet. After how lukewarm Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness was, it’s relieving to see this series be given another new chance.

Star Ocean The Divine Force is releasing on  October 27, 2022, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
