Nintendo has announced that Star Fox Adventures is joining the Switch GameCube Classics section for Switch Online subscribers later today.
Rare developed Star Fox Adventures, a shift for the series, as an action-adventure starring Fox McCloud. Fox explores Dinosaur Planet, collects items, and solves environmental puzzles akin to The Legend of Zelda series. It focuses heavily on ground-based exploration and melee combat.
Fox primarily fights using a staff, while sections featuring the Arwing retain elements of space-based gameplay. This was also Rare’s final game released for a Nintendo home console before Microsoft acquired them in 2002. It was met with considerable controversy at launch, but it has become a cult classic.
