NIS America announced that the Chara-Ani developed SRPG Langrisser I & II will launch in the west on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2020.
Langrisser I & II is a collection of titles from an SRPG series that hasn’t really made a dent in the west, even though it is quite popular in the east. This collection of the games will tell the origin story of the series with high-definition visuals, reorchestrated music, and additional quality-of-life improvements to the gameplay and user experience that started this series.
Langrisser I follows the story after the forces of darkness descend over the kingdom of Baldea. Players will take their sword as Prince Ledin and fight toward discovering the source of the evil in the Dalsis empire.
Langrisser II see a return of the darkness and follows the hero Elwn who attempts to navigate the war and determine which path to take that will lead him to peace during the conflict.
Additionally, the publisher released a new trailer that gives players a pretty nice preview of the collection as it compares the retro version to the new version. The trailer also shows the character interactions and gives a preview of the battle system.
