Square Enix Reveals Survey Report for Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier’s Closed Beta Test; Controller Compatibility Incoming and More
Square Enix has revealed the survey report results given to participants in the closed beta test of Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier. The accumulated results of the survey report are publically viewable, but to sum it up, it was mostly positive in reception.
61% of players were “very satisfied” with the game, and 57% enjoyed it more than expected. Of course, these numbers do count for the majority. Still, it is worth keeping in mind that a considerable amount of testers, by comparison, found the experience either moderately expected or transparently unenjoyable. In addition, the control style was rather mixed in reception, with about half of the testers needing to get used to how the game played instead of it feeling naturally intuitive. Square Enix acknowledged this critique and stated that they are working on making the controls easier to grasp.
Regarding desired improvements, the 2 most voted for options were character movement/controls and handling of weapons. In response, aside from expected optimization, Square Enix stated that they intend on adding controller compatibility and a training mode, with the former being one of the most frequently sought-for features.
Statistics for play data are also provided, and while there isn’t anything particularly significant listed, it is intriguing to view the most used classes, spells, and coincidental locales of defeat.
In closing, the development team assures readers that they have taken every piece of feedback seriously and will be giving their all into making this mobile battle royale the best experience it can be.
