Square Enix Announces ‘Endwalker’, the Next Expansion for Final Fantasy XIV; Title Coming to PlayStation 5

On February 5, 2021, Square Enix announced the upcoming 4th expansion pack for the hit MMO, Final Fantasy XIV. This next expansion, called Endwalker, is scheduled to release during Fall 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

In this expansion, players will experience the climax of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark storyline, where travels will even reach the moon. While this expansion will conclude the long-running story arc that initially began in A Realm Reborn, it will also mark a brand new beginning and breathe new life into the MMO. Both longtime fans and prospective new ones can enjoy this new experience together.

The PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy XIV was also announced, with an open beta occurring on April 13, 2021. This version of the title will be a significant enhancement from the PlayStation 4 version, featuring improvements such as improved frame rates, faster load times, and 4K resolution. Players who play on PlayStation 4 can upgrade to PlayStation 5 at no extra cost, and new players can try the title through a free trial. The full game will be available on PlayStation 5 following the run of the open beta.
