Square Enix Announces Visual Novel Elements with Emotions; 2023 Japan Release

In the Japanese broadcast of today’s Nintendo Direct, developer and publisher Square Enix announced a brand-new “friendship bonding simulation adventure” visual novel titled Elements with Emotions, which will be releasing on Nintendo Switch in Japan next year. There are no details as to if or when this game will be coming West, but a website for the Japanese version can be viewed here.

The game plans to have up to 45 routes and 90 endings, with four characters planned for the base game and an additional six characters to be added as paid DLC in the future. In each route, players will bond together with the Shikenkan, special boys that wield the elements of the periodic table, as the world comes to an end in a meager 50 days. The game also features a soundtrack composed by Elements Garden.
