Square Enix Selling $2,600 Full Metal Alchemist 20th Anniversary Statue

Square Enix has announced that pre-orders are available for a Full Metal Alchemist 20th Anniversary statue via their North American storefront. This 1/4 scale item is based on an illustration shown at the “FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST Exhibit RETURNS” art exhibit in Japan in 2021.

Depicting the dual protagonists Edward and Alphonse Elric, their features and attire were intricately crafted, with the former’s alchemy efforts even being fully showcased. Customization will also be possible, with Edward having an interchangeable grinning headpiece and his automail right arm. As for Alphonse, he comes with swappable open and clenched hand parts.

Further, customers will be granted a Full Metal Alchemist 20th Anniversary logo stand to display. Fans can pre-order this product ahead of its planned April 2024 shipment via Square Enix North America’s digital storefront. However, it is worth noting that this product costs a staggering $2,600.00, which will likely be a hundred or more bucks when taking Square’s costly shipping into account.

I have no doubt that this item is masterfully made, but I imagine that only a few lucky and wealthy fans will manage to purchase this collector’s item. At least it looks really cool.
