SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake Releasing for PS5 & Xbox Series X|S October 2023

THQ Nordic and Purple Lamp have announced that their 3D platformer SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 16, 2023. The game is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Aside from enhanced performance and presentation, this release will boast the following two new cosmetics:

“Unlock the “King Doubloon” costume for collecting your coins and show -off the “Plush Gary” costume when you unlock all awards!”

It will also be a free next-gen upgrade.

PlayStation5 + PlayStation 4:

• New Feature – Photo Mode! Apply one of 19 different filters to enhance your pictures.
• New Costumes
  – New costume “King Doubloon” for collecting all doubloons is now available.
  – New costume “Plush Gary” for unlocking all awards is now available.
• Improvements (PS5 only)
  – Support of DualSense controller audio output when picking up items.
  – Support of DualSense adaptive triggers when using reef blower and swinging hook actions.

Xbox Series X/S + Xbox One:

• New Feature – Photo Mode! Apply one of 19 different filters to enhance your pictures.
• New Costumes
  – New costume “King Doubloon” for collecting all doubloons is now available.
  – New costume “Plush Gary” for unlocking all awards is now available.

PC (Steam, GOG, Epic)

• New Feature – Photo Mode! Apply one of 19 different filters to enhance your pictures.

Nintendo Switch

Bug Fixes (all platforms)

• Fixed a rare bug where saving stopped working.
• Fixed a bug where the playtime did not pause while on a loading screen.
• Many general bug fixes to improve stability and playability of the game.

In this game, SpongeBob and Patrick open a vial of Mermaid’s Tears from a mysterious fortune teller named Kassandra. However, opening it opens up the fabric of space and time and portals to Wishworlds.

Players will have to find SpongeBob’s friends in these areas and restore Bikini Bottom’s architecture in the midst of whatever devious plot Kassandra is devising. Players can look forward to over 30 costumes, seven worlds, 101 songs from the series, and many platforming techniques to utilize.
