Splatoon 3 Becomes Fastest Nintendo Switch Title To Sell 3 Million Copies In 3 Days

Nintendo recently announced that their latest installment of the Splatoon series, Splatoon 3, has sold 3.45 million digital and physical units combined in the first three days since its launch on September 9, 2022.

This earns it the highest domestic sales level for any Nintendo Switch software within its first three days. For reference, its predecessor, Splatoon 2, sold 13.30 million units combined on its lifetime, and considering the developers have plans to constantly update it for a period of two years, that’s an impressive early milestone!

Splatoon 3 is the brand-new sequel to Splatoon 2. In this new game, you’ll leave Inkopolis behind and head to a new region: the Splatlands, a chaotic city crowded with various elements, where you can enjoy not only Turf War battles, but also the Story Mode in which players can battle and discover a mysterious place called Alterna on their own and Salmon Run, where up to four players can work together and fend off powerful bosses. The title introduces various features to the action-shooter series, including weapons such as the bow-weapon, customization options, and movement abilities. Splatoon 3 is now available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
