New Splatoon 3 Trailer Reveals Turf War Gameplay & September Release Date
Nintendo just posted a brand-new Splatoon 3 trailer on their official YouTube channel, which contained a full 3-minute Turf War, including some interesting new mechanics, compared to Splatoon 2.
We immediately notice that players will now be able to customize a custom title for themselves, and said title will appear on your screen should you be splatted by said player. Furthermore, we saw various never-seen-before Special Abilities, such as a vacuum-like gadget and a grappling hook that allowed a player from the yellow team to zip around at fast speeds.
The camera then pans out to a player using the brand-new weapon type, which resembles a bow. It appears that this new weapon type allows for quick charge shots, but it doesn’t seem to contain the reticle like the charger weapons usually do.
Finally, the results screen shows up, showing all of the titles of the players that belong to the winning team. The release date is also shown: Splatoon 3 will be coming on September 9th, and pre-orders can already be made on Amazon or via the Nintendo eShop page.
Splatoon 3 is the brand-new sequel to Splatoon 2. In this new game in the Splatoon series, you’ll leave Inkopolis behind and head to a new region: the Splatlands. Its heart is a new city where battle-savvy Inklings and Octolings gather: Splatsville, also known as the “City of Chaos.”
In addition, Splatoon 3 introduces various features to the action-shooter series, including weapons such as the bow-weapon, customization options, and movement abilities to bring to the returning 4v4 Turf Wars matches. Splatoon 3 will release exclusively on Nintendo Switch on September 9.
