Hand-Drawn Adventure ‘Spiritfarer’ Shows Emotional Gameplay in New Trailer
Thunder Lotus released a new trailer for the hand-drawn adventure game, Spiritfarer, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2020.
The trailer focuses on the cooperative gameplay offered in the game, but also how the story puts the spotlight on topics of friendship, and the relationship between the characters, which involves guiding them to the afterlife.
Spiritfarer has players take on the role of a ferry master for those who have recently become deceased. The first set of actions is to build a boat to explore the world. During gameplay, players will be able to farm, mine, fish, harvest, cook, and craft in order to make their way across the seas as you tend to the needs of your spirit friends. This is all to see them to the afterlife and it’s a rather emotional journey as you make these memories together all the while knowing one day you’ll need to let them go.
Spiritfarer is being developed by Thunder Lotus, the team behind games like Joton and Sundered, which were both gorgeous looking games. The team now plans on grabbing the emotions of players with this more relaxing journey that focuses on a heavy subject.
