Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II Delayed to 2024; Soundtrack CD Announced
Aksys has announced Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II will no longer be coming in 2023, delaying its release to late February 2024, though a more specific date has yet to be confirmed. The horror title developed by Experience will be available on PC (Steam), PS5, and Switch.
Death Mark II is the third title in the Spirit Hunter series, following Death Mark and Spirit Hunter: NG. The new game brings the original protagonist, Kazuo Yashiki, back to H City in order to investigate supernatural cases tied to the local school, Konoehara Academy. Characters from the previous games will help him in the investigation.
As was the case of the previous games, the main allure of Death Mark II is the exploration of Japanese folklore and urban legends. Learning more about the spirits that curse the land and how to deal with them efficiently will be necessary. This time, however, it’ll be possible to explore the locations in a 2D side-scrolling format rather than only through a point-and-click view.
Besides the release delay, Aksys has announced that their store will have an Original Soundtrack CD with 14 tracks from the game. This will be an exclusive item for the North American Aksys Online Store.
