SpellForce 3 – Fallen God Expansion Trailer Shows Standalone Story Narration and Intense RTS Combat

SpellForce has received a trailer for its upcoming second expansion, SpellForce 3 – Fallen God. Developer Grimlore Games and publisher THQ Nordic have stated that this expansion is a standalone experience, and can be enjoyed without having played through the prior expansion, SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest, or the base game of SpellForce 3.

You can watch the trailer for this upcoming, second standalone expansion below:

Just like the prior outings of this title, this expansion features a melding of both RTS and RPG combat mechanics for immersive battles and storytelling, except now it takes place in the new continent of Urgath. The playtime for the single player campaign is estimated to be around 15 hours. Those 15 hours will consist of not only combat, but also hero customization via skill trees and abilities, as well as equipment crafting and looting.

Character builds and player choices can determine outcomes of the story, through those actions shaping the characterization of players’ companions. The trolls are a newly playable faction too, and have an incredibly unique playstyle in the world of SpellForce 3.

In addition to the single player campaign, an all new soundtrack and full Steam Workshop integration and modding are also featured. Ranked play is introduced via this expansion as well in a 1:1 ELO-based ranked system. Map creation is yet another feature of this expansion, and will allow players to share their creations online.

SpellForce 3 – Fallen God is scheduled for a November 3, 2020 release on PC.
