Sony Announces New 30-Minute State of Play This Week; Deathloop Being Showcased
The official PlayStation Twitter account has announced that there will be a brand new State of Play taking place this week, with a 9-minute showcase of Deathloop stated to be part of the 30-minute show. Viewers will witness more of the title’s destructive gameplay, from stealth elements to more in-your-face chaos.
Additionally, there will be updates on third-party titles and indies throughout the show, though the specifics of what will be shown are currently unknown. On PlayStation Blog, Sony has additionally stated that there will be no news on God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, or the secretive next iteration of PlayStation VR.
The upcoming State of Play is occurring this Thursday, July 8, at 5 PM EST/2 PM PST on the official PlayStation Youtube and Twitch channels.
In Deathloop, players get transported to the island of Blackreef, where a seemingly eternal struggle between two assassins will determine the island’s future. Taking control of Colt, players must somehow find a way to rid the time-loop entrapping the island in a perpetual cycle while also being hunted by the inhabitants of Blackreef.
There are 8 targets to take care of alongside Julianna, a rival assassin whose mission is to take out Colt and keep the time-loop going. Players must utilize the knowledge of the various loops they experience to ultimately destroy the cycle entirely.
