Developer Don Yasa Crew and publisher Kakehashi Games have released a free update for SONOKUNI, the top-down action game known for its hyper-stylized violence and experimental Japanese hip hop flair. The update is available now on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, check out our review.
To mark the update, a new accolades trailer was released, highlighting positive reception since launch. A 30% discount is also live for a limited time.
New Gallery Mode Offers Behind-the-Scenes Content
The latest addition introduces a Gallery Mode, giving players a deeper look at the visual and musical side of SONOKUNI. Concept art, design notes, and character visuals are now accessible, providing insight into the creation of protagonist Takeru and the world’s grotesque biotech enemies.
The mode also includes a music section, letting fans revisit the game’s original tracks outside of combat. Don Yasa Crew’s genre-mashing beats, central to the game’s identity, can now be appreciated on their own, separate from the high-speed bloodshed.
SONOKUNI is available on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
