Sonic The Hedgehog Movie 3 Confirmed; Idris Elba Knuckles Spin-Off Series Also Confirmed
As part of a mountain of various film-related announcements, Paramount has announced two upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog projects arriving in the future. The first of these projects is the confirmation of a third Sonic The Hedgehog movie, which is notable as the second film is releasing on April 8, 2022.
Secondly, a Knuckles-centric spinoff series with Idris Elba reprising his role as the echidna has also been confirmed for a 2023 release. This is genuinely monumental news for Sonic fans, and it’s cool to see Paramount banking on this IP so heavily.

The Sega CEO also shared a personal message concerning the future of the Sonic franchise earlier today.

Sonic Frontiers is releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Holiday 2022. A teaser site has launched. Further, the setting of the title was confirmed to be called Starfall Islands.
