Sonic the Hedgehog 30th Anniversary Livestream Taking Place this Week with Updates on Upcoming Projects and Partnerships
The official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account has announced that there will be an official broadcast taking place on Thursday, May 27, called Sonic Central. This stream will showcase what to expect from the franchise’s 30th anniversary, from upcoming projects to events and partnerships.
To say this was a long time coming would be an understatement. There has been almost complete silence from Sega regarding Sonic’s 30th anniversary, and fans have been clamoring for even the slightest updates on future titles for months upon months. There have been leaks from several sources and retailers of a Sonic Colors port alongside a collection of sorts, but there has been no official word from Sega on their existences.
Hopefully, this upcoming event will lack transparency and inform fans of the next steps the series is taking, especially in regards to games.
The official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account and Youtube account also shared a special celebratory video that will assuredly make any fan emotional.
You can view Sonic Central on the Sonic Twitch and Youtube channels on May 27, at 9 AM PT/ 12 PM EST.
