Sega revealed that Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Puyo Puyo 2 will launch digitally via the Nintendo Switch eShop on February 20 for $7.99 each.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 brings back the game’s two-player mode, along with a newly added drop dash feature that was introduced in Sonic Mania. This allows players to spin dash in mid-air to gain speed. Additionally, there is Super Sonic Mode, where players can enable an overpowered sonic from the start, Time Trial, with online boards, and Knuckles will also be available.
Puyo Puyo 2 is finally available in the west after it released 25 years ago in Japan. This version of the game allows players to play across multiple modes, including, two-player online battles, with online ranking. There’s also a rewind function that allows you to fix your screw up or work on strategies as well as a colorblind mode.
Each title is available separately on Switch as part of the Sega Ages lineup of titles. This is where Sega returns to its classic titles and re-releases them on the Switch eShop. Interestingly, the publisher is focusing on games that never made it to the west, which is great for retro gamers who wish to play these classic titles.
