Sonic Superstars Announced for Consoles & PC; New 2D Sonic Game
During today’s Summer Game Fest event, Sega announced a brand-new 2D Sonic game titled Sonic Superstars. You can play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy with simultaneous local four-player co-op. There are new abilities and powers themed on the elements, special stages, various boss fights, and stage-specific gimmicks. We’ll be sure to keep you all updated on any further announcements.
The chaos emeralds grant abilities like creating clones of yourself, climbing waterfalls, and powering up.
Signing up for the email newsletter by January 31, 2024, via the game’s official website will grant an Amy Rose skin.
The latest 2D outing for the franchise was Sonic Origins Collection, while the last new game was Sonic Mania. Sonic Origins Plus is scheduled to launch on June 23, 2023.
Sonic Superstars will release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in Fall 2023, for $59.99 USD.
