New Sonic Speed Strats Discusses Sonic 2; Hidden Palace Zone, Playable Tails & Knuckles + More

Sega has shared the next installment of the Sonic Speed Strats series, highlighting the third canonical entry, Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Various facets of basic information are discussed here, such as the narrative’s premise, gameplay, and more. Additionally, Hidden Palace Zone is mentioned as being accessible from Mystic Cave Zone Act 2 via a specific pit. For those unaware, this legendary Zone was cut from the game’s original release, but it has been included here as a neat bonus.

Playable Tails and Knuckles are brought up as well, alongside two-player versus mode and cooperative play. Tails boasts the ability of flight and the capacity to carry Sonic or Knuckles to higher platforms, even in single-player mode, though there is a time limit in place. Moreover, common knowledge like this title being the origin of Super Sonic and the Spindash ability, and the Special Stages being entirely different from the previous two entries is also discussed.
