Sonic Frontiers Reveals 7 Minutes of Gameplay Footage

IGN has revealed 7 minutes of gameplay for Sonic Frontiers, the upcoming highly ambitious mainline title being internally developed by Sega. Fans can view the wide-open environments accompanied by puzzles, movement mechanics, and much more.

Various Sonic-centric features are also presented such as springs and grind rails. The pop-in does look to be somewhat rough, but that’s a relatively minor issue in the grand scheme of events. Verticality also looks to be as integral for scale as the horizontal movement which will definitely be a change of pace for Sonic. Puzzles, as previously mentioned, seem to be in abundance, hearkening to the Breath of the Wild inspirations.

IGN’s senior editorial producer has confirmed that more gameplay will be arriving Friday, highlighting Sonic’s combat abilities.
