Sonic Adventure DX & Sonic Adventure 2 Launching for Steam in Japan Early 2024

Sega has announced that Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Adventure 2 will finally launch for PC via Steam in Japan in early 2024. A precise launch date was not provided.

Yes, as surprising as it may seem, neither of these games were available on Steam in Japan, while we’ve had them in the West for over a decade.

Sonic Adventure was initially launched for the Sega Dreamcast in 1998. This entry was especially notable for featuring six playable characters across their own storylines, which were also interconnected. They also each had their own distinct gameplay styles, some of which were more popular than others.

Sonic Adventure 2 is beloved for various reasons, such as introducing the fan-favorite character Shadow the Hedgehog. However, it adopted a more linear-style gameplay format instead of the overworlds present in the first game.

Sonic Superstars is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

An official free prequel comic, Fang’s Big Break, is available, and YouTuber Cybershell did a collab video with Sega discussing the history of Fang’s character.
