Romance Visual Novel ‘Song of Memories’ Gets Western PS4 Release Date, Cancelled on Nintendo Switch
PQube announced some good and bad news for visual novel fans, the publisher revealed that the PlayStation 4 release of Song of Memories will launch worldwide on February 1. However, the planned Nintendo Switch version has been canceled due to “development complications”.
The Switch version of Song of Memories was a nice platform for the visual novel given the portable nature of the console. However, the publisher states that the game “can’t be brought to a functioning level of quality our fans demand on the Switch due to development complications.” Although this is disappointing, the publisher could have otherwise launched the game with bugs and lost the trust of fans, so the alternative of canceling the game seems like a good idea.
Song of Memories is a romantic visual novel that has some dark and sinister undertones. Players will be able to find the love of their life and then fight for them as an apocalyptic virus threatens the female gender.
The game offers six different routes with multiple endings, fully animated characters, and fully voiced with over 40 hours of recorded audio.
Earlier, it was revealed that no content was taken out of the PlayStation 4 version in the west.
Song of Memories launches on PlayStation 4 on February 1.
