Raiser Games and Protocol Games announced that their survival horror adventure, Song of Horror, will launch its fifth and final episode, Chapter 5, on PC-via Steam on May 28, which is a slight delay from their previously scheduled May 14 release date.
The final episode brings together everything players have experienced in the journey for a final conclusion. Choices that players have made and characters who have died along the way will influence the ending. To stem the gap between Episode 4 and Episode 5, the developer released an update on Steam that introduced “substantial changes” to the chapter.
“We set out to both honor the big survival-horror games of old, and to bring something new to the genre at the same time,” says studio founder Carlos Grupeli on the emotional end to the game he’s been working on for the past six years. “It wasn’t easy but, in many ways, the fifth and final episode is the natural culmination of all that ambition and the chapter where most is at stake. It’ll be sad to bring Song of Horror to a close after all this time, but we can’t wait to see what the fans make of it.”
The console version of the game will launch as the complete version. Each chapter takes players through a nightmarish setting inspired by some of the most popular survival horror franchises. The enemies in the game also learn and react to player’s moves, which makes things, even more, heart racing.
“We’re proud to have been able to help Protocol Games realize its vision for Song of Horror, and we can honestly say that, since the first episode launched on Halloween, the game has been highly praised by both players and critics, becoming one of the flagship titles in our library,” adds Pablo de la Nuez, Managing Director at Raiser Games.
