SNK Universe Project Announced to Increase Global IP Awareness; Branching Out from Fighting Games

SNK has announced the SNK Universe Project, “an initiative for developing various forms of entertainment, in order to spread the appeal of SNK’s IPs worldwide.” This project aims to increase global awareness of the developer’s IPs, including The King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, and Samurai Shodown, by “diversifying them across various forms of entertainment.”

To achieve this ambitious effort, they will branch out from the genre of fighting games, embracing other mediums like manga, anime, film, and music. For example, a joint booth with Shueisha XR will be held at New York Comic Con 2023 between October 12 and October 15, 2023.

At the event, a special movie “detailing the SNK Universe Project will be shown there in the form of a MANGA DIVE experience.”

Further details are quoted below:

The movie will include manga created especially for MANGA DIVE, in addition to game footage from the KOF series. It will deliver a full-fledged immersive experience that explores the unique world (and history) of KOF.

We’ll keep you all updated with the SNK Universe Project. You can view additional details via the official SNK website.

The King of Fighters XV is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows 10, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
