SNK 40th Anniversary Collection Shows Off Alpha Mission and Vanguard for Switch
NIS America dropped a new trailer for SNK 40th Anniversary Collection showcasing two classic games.
The trailer highlights two shooters playable in their collection, Alpha Mission and Vanguard.
In Alpha Mission, you can blast through enemies in two modes, Console or Aracde. Gameplay feature battles fought from either the ground or air as a member of the “galactic alliance known as the Seven Stars” tries to take over your home planet of earth.
While Vanguard has players fighting to keep their fuel gauge replenished as the player tries to reach the end and face “the Great King Gond.” The gameplay features multi-directional shooting and replayable levels with increasing difficulties
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is an assemblage of over a dozen arcade games from SNK. The game collection has the usual trope of features from retro re-releases such as save states, rewinding, and updated visuals for HD gameplay.
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is launching on Nintendo Switch on November 13.

Author’s take: I have never been familiar with SNK games, even when growing up. But I cannot deny the appeal for retro shooters, especially with Vanguard’s ability to shoot in multiple directions. So I’ll be keeping my eye out for that one.
