Slice-of-Life Visual Novel ‘Cafe Stella and the Reapers’ Butterflies’ Coming West to PC

NekoNyan announced they will publish the Yuzusoft-developed slice-of-life visual novel Cafe Stella and the Reapers in the west to PC.

Originally titled Café Stella to Shinigami no Chou in Japan, Cafe Stella and the Reapers is being localized by the team at NekoNyan. This is the most recent release from the developer, and it mixes slice-of-life tones with a plot-driven narrative and lots and lots of coffee. The game is currently 50% translated and edited. The project is translated by Akerou and Dream and edited by Chuee.

Cafe Stella and the Reapers is set in the same universe as Senren Banka, where we meet Takamine Kousei, who was living a relaxing college lifestyle until he died in an accident. However, when he opened his eyes, he found himself reliving the same day he died. He returns to the place of his death and meets a death goddess who informs him that he hasn’t escaped death and he must assist her work. What this actually means is that he has to now work in a cafe.

The gameplay also features a flow chart to jump to previous choices and save screenshots during gameplay, along with a sprite viewer system.

Cafe Stella and the Reapers contains adult themes and doesn’t currently have an all-ages version available, but that could change.
