Slice-of-Life 1986 Story Game ‘Lake’ Receives September Release Date for Xbox Series X|S, and PC

Publisher Whitethorn Digital has announced that the Banana Bird Studios, LLC developed Lake, will release for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam next month. This title is a slice of life adventure with interactive elements that takes place on September 1, 1986.

Players control Meredith Weiss, a software company employee who ends up having to take her dad’s place as the local mail carrier at her hometown, Providence Oaks, Oregon. During Meredith’s two-week stay here, players must decide who she befriends, how she interacts with townsfolk, and whether or not she will stay in this occupation or resume her taxing office job. Additionally, there is a tease implying romantic choices.

The general appeal of this title comes from its context, being during a time where technology is nowhere near as prevalent as it now is for us. This makes conversing with the diverse array of characters readily more personal, which internet and text interaction can’t often convey.
