Slave Zero X Surprised Us in New Trailer Showcasing Off its Stylish Arcade Action
Ziggurat released a new trailer for the Poppy Works-developed action arcade game, Slave Zero X, coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC via GOG and Steam in 2023.
The trailer highlights the game’s characters and combat, along with some scenes from the story. However, what caught our eye was the anime-esque character designs against a 3D background. It allows the characters to really stand out in the action. I’d compare the experience to a classic arcade action game with beat-em-up systems and stylish combat. I was half expecting to see a scoring system in the trailer, but we’ll see.
There’s currently a demo available on Steam to try out the game for yourself.
Slave Zero X takes place 4 years before the events of Slave Zero, which was initially released in 1999. Living machines known as Slaves are being used for war. A secret band of warriors known as The Guardians hope to stop these biomecha from being unleashed upon the world, but one swordsman among their ranks has a different idea: use the enemy’s own weapon against them. By merging with a stolen Slave Unit Prototype, Shou will become a furious Devil in pursuit of killing a false God.
We’ll keep you updated on the release of Slave Zero X.
