Slave Zero X Shows Off Incredibly Cool Beat ’em Gameplay in New Trailer; Gets February Release Date

Ziggurat released a new trailer for the Poppy Works-developed action arcade game Slave Zero X, coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC via GOG and Steam on February 21, 2024.

The trailer highlights new gameplay and abilities. Further, players get a small preview of the overarching narrative that mostly revolves around action.

Slave Zero X takes place 4 years before the events of Slave Zerowhich was initially released in 1999. Living machines known as Slaves are being used for war. A secret band of warriors known as The Guardians hope to stop these biomecha from being unleashed upon the world, but one swordsman among their ranks has a different idea: use the enemy’s own weapon against them. By merging with a stolen Slave Unit Prototype, Shou will become a furious Devil in pursuit of killing a false God.

Atop the towering expanse of Megacity S1-9, the autocratic Sovereign Khan holds sway through sheer force and dominion. Deep beneath the decaying underbelly of the city, a vengeful warrior embarks on a relentless quest to end his rule. Set five years prior to the events depicted in Slave Zero, Slave Zero X breathes fresh life into a world plagued by the presence of grotesque, sentient war machines known as Slaves, poised to become the latest instruments of warfare in humanity’s long and brutal history.

In this dystopian backdrop, a clandestine group of fighters known as The Guardians strives to thwart the impending unleashing of these biomechanical monstrosities upon the world. However, one exceptional swordsman within their ranks harbors a different strategy: to turn the enemy’s weapon against them. By fusing with a purloined Slave Unit Prototype, Shou transforms into a relentless force, a veritable Devil, with a singular objective – to eliminate a false God.
