Skilled Propmaker Collabs With Square Enix To Create Jack Garland’s Greatsword
Square Enix and talented propmaker, LittleJem, have collaborated to produce a real-life version of Jack Garland’s greatsword from Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin. The effort required to create such a faithful replica is assuredly immense, and LittleJem detailed her work on the process via Square Enix Blog. Throughout this article, she initially discusses what caused her to work in such a unique field before delving into the specifics of this greatsword. First, though, it is also worth noting that she has worked with Square Enix before on NieR Replicant to cosplay Kaine faithfully.
LittleJem noted that the sword’s size was the most arduous factor to contend with since the weight could easily stack up. Ultimately, the prop ended up being roughly 190cm and 1.2kg. Several swinging tests and dealing with unfortunate weather were only a few aspects of this lengthy construction.
I highly recommend giving the full article on Square Enix’s Blog a read for yourself since she phrases her work in more digestible, easier ways than I could.
