Fantasy RPG ‘SKALD: Against the Black Priory’ to Be Published by Raw Fury; New Trailer Highlights Gameplay

Raw Fury announced they will publish the Scape-IT-developed retro-style fantasy RPG SKALD: Against the Black Priory on PC-via Steam.

Currently, the game is preparing for an Early Access release to refine the “non-linear gameplay and branching story combined with complex game systems.” The small indie studio will use this time to provide a roadmap to early players and the chance to shape the game’s development. Early Access will last 6 to 12 months.

SKALD: Against the Black Priory is a fantasy RPG with old-school roleplaying systems. The game takes modern systems and presents them in an 8-bit world. The game has players explore the world as a created character. Players can also recruit other characters to create a party that defines their playstyle. The battle system features turn-based grid-based actions for players to strategically plan their attack. However, the developer has mentioned that this is meant to be taken at a faster pace. Still, there are various levels of difficulty and even an “auto-resolve” button that will hopefully end in a win.
